Ok, back to the point. I opened my cabinet and was again reminded of the super cool Ribbon Dolls I had made and received in swaps. I keep these beauties inside the cabinet because the orange kitty "Dori" (short for Dorito, when we got her we thought she may accidentally be an orange tasty treat for our then Akita, "Kita-Hoshi". No... nothing bad happened so do not get excited. They loved one another) is attracted to the ribbons and after swatting at them has occasionally has gotten a paw caught (... naughty thing that she is at times, no respect for my things lol). Which brings me to the following photos. I made a majority of these but 2 of them are from trades. The Halloween Witch is from Delores Miller who did a fabulous job (look at the detail in the bodice and the beading, just wonderful) and the Victorian Lady in pink/green was made by Jackie Bloom (again, so much awesome detail and the lace/ribbon is so well placed). There are a lot of different ways to make ribbon dolls. Some people use magazine cut outs, some use clip art I tend to try and draw/paint as much as I can on mine, no real reason why, it is just what I like.
Below you will see photos of the ones I currently have. They make me happy.
